STUBHUB BRAND BOOK

OVERVIEW

StubHub wanted a new brand look to convey the emotional appeal of attending a ticketed experience.
Whether it being in the middle of a roaring crowd or deeply engaged in theater.
Stubhub is in the business of helping fans find fun. A spectrum of bold colors were introduced along with a
monochromatic photo saturation made the brand pop against its competition.

THE BRAND ESSENCE

Stubhub is obsessed with entertainment at all times. They are plugged in and will introduce you to your next favorite band in town.  Enthusiastic, Stubhub will make you want to get up and into the crowd.

Whether you're a long time fan, or looking for fresh fun, Stubhub is just the ticket. They will make it happen for you – in a hurry and without a glitch.

LOGO

Should be never shown as a filled in chat bubble. They are meant to be only be one color. Medium blue and orange are the primary, core brand colors. These six variations of colors are the only ones allowed to be used.

TYPOGRAPHY

Energetic, fun and crystal clear. This is what the typography should reflect.

 

Knock Out: A bold look which compliments the brands punchy style and allows for several weights for versatility.

Akzidenz-Grotesk: Used for body copy, set in sentence case. Works together nicely with the Headline font.

COLOR PAIRING CHART

While the color palette was designed to be flexible and harmoniously interchangeable, legibility remains all-important. The following chart can be used as a guide to effective pairings, appropriate to the mood you’re communicating.

Keep in mind that scale, distance and context can affect how color works, so the chart is merely an aid to your own good judgment.

IMAGERY

These four categories define the images most relevant to StubHub marketing: entertainers, genres, fans and venues. While images may come from a variety of sources, in many styles, sticking to these categories will help ensure the photos are true to the spirit of the brand. 

These examples are a good choice where licensed artist or team imagery is not available.

INFORMATION ICONS

Think of these as tiny road signs on the UI highway. While they should be graphically appealing, above all they need to be informative, instructive, functional – readable and understandable at (metaphorically speaking) 60 mph. 

Beyond the individual icon, an interface should reflect a consistent and cohesive style. So, in keeping with the overall brand look, all our icons should be linear and avoid solid fills. Forms should be geometric, based on simple, pure shapes.
